  • Peter DeLury, CPA

My name is Peter DeLury. I’m a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certified by the New York Department of Education. I’ve got nearly a decade of experience in tax compliance, resolution, and planning for small business owners. In my day-to-day professional life, I plan with small business owners and optimize their tax strategies to minimize their tax obligations. I do this with a keen eye for compliance and respect for the law.

Before my time as a CPA, I spent seven years working in a pharmacy. Those were the days. I started out as a humble stock boy facing shelves, offloading trucks, and all the physical labor you’d expect a young man to do. But over time, they realized I was more than just a set of hands and that I could think critically. I worked my way up to manager of the pharmacy in its entirety. Customer service, supply chain management, cash management, inventory management, operations management. You name the hat and I was wearing it. Balancing costs with the needs of patients was an immense challenge, but it gave me the vital exposure I needed to understand the core functions of running a small business in a practical setting.

While I was working here, I spent 6 years acquiring both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business and finance fields at Brooklyn College.  However, when I went to apply for jobs, I learned very quickly that finance was about who you knew, not what you knew.  That admittedly did not leave a good taste in my mouth, so I decided to leverage what I already accomplished academically to get the required credits for an accounting degree as well. Fortunately for accounting, it was more about what you knew and that was more my speed.

Not long after that, I got a job working in a tax and accounting firm. I started in sales, which was an easy enough job as my previous academic history gave me the know-how of sales conversations and the marketing aspect, but my employer realized the same thing that the pharmacy owner realized. I was more than just a sales funnel. I could think critically. Before I knew it, I was preparing tax returns of all shapes and sizes, advising clients on a myriad of situations, and resolving issues clients were having with tax agencies. It was only a matter of time before I became Senior Tax Manager at the firm. I duplicated my efforts, trained other accountants to become self-sufficient, and witnessed the fruits of my labor first-hand.

Now, I’ve decided to take this wealth of knowledge that I have accumulated over the better part of nearly two decades and use it to help small business owners tackle the gargantuan task of running a business with practical advice and critical thought. But in truth, the path of knowledge is a lifelong process and I continue to walk that path every single day.  And just as it would be an honor and privilege to be a part of your personal journey, it would be an equal honor and privilege to have you be a part of mine.

  • Maria Bachayeva, EA

I come from a hardworking, business-savvy family where entrepreneurship was more than a career—it was a way of life. Growing up, I didn’t just watch my parents run their restaurant and convenience store—I was right there in the thick of it. I started by peeling potatoes in the kitchen, washing dishes, and eventually worked my way up to a management role, all while juggling 12-hour shifts and making sure every part of the operation ran smoothly.

From cash handling and inventory control to bookkeeping and training employees, I wore many hats to ensure the business thrived. Delivering exceptional customer service wasn’t just part of the job—it was a value we lived by. Supporting my parents’ dream while pursuing my own was no small feat. I balanced the demands of running a business with the obstacles of earning my accounting degree, all driven by one goal: to one day help small business owners, just like my parents, reach their full potential.

When I graduated with my bachelor's degree in accounting, I knew exactly who I wanted to serve.  Over the last nine years, I’ve had the privilege of working with countless small businesses, helping them stay financially sound, make informed decisions, and save thousands of dollars on taxes.

What started as a daughter’s determination to support her family has grown into a lifelong mission to empower entrepreneurs and small businesses. Today, I bring that same level of dedication, grit, and heart to every client I work with.

    Fun Facts About Me!

    • When I’m not crunching numbers or helping clients save on taxes, you can probably find me in the kitchen cooking up something delicious. I love experimenting with different cuisines—it’s my favorite way to relax and get creative.

    • I also have a passion for travel and exploring new cultures. Whether it's tasting street food in a new city or getting lost in a local market, I live for those little moments that open your mind and feed your soul.

    • Staying active is another big part of my life—whether it's a workout session, a scenic walk, or just moving my body to feel good and energized. And speaking of scenic… I absolutely love being in nature. The beach is my happy place.
